8 days Uganda classic tour takes you to a number of national parks in Uganda where you will explore Murchison falls which is the largest park in Uganda as you will do a rhino trekking on your way to the park. You will enjoy the game drive, boat cruise on the Nile, the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale and the gorilla trekking in bwindi where you will encounter with the endangered gorillas in their natural habitat as well as visit Lake Bunyonyi.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1; TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Depending on your location, the safari guide will pick you and brief you about the Uganda safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Murchison falls which is the largest national park in Uganda. It’s a home to the big 4 game that is elephants, buffaloes, lions and leopards. However there will be a stopover at the ziwa rhino sanctuary for the rhino trekking. You will have lunch and continue with the journey to the falls. On arrival to the park, you will head to your lodge and relax as you wait for the next day’s activities.

DAY 2; GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FALLS

You will head for a morning game drive after your breakfast on the northern bank of the park. This takes 3 to 5 hours where you will spot wildlife species such as Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kob. After you will head back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will go for a boat cruise on the Nile with an amazing panoramic view at the bottom of the Murchison falls where you will spot crocodiles, hippos and birds on the river banks such as bee-eater, cormorants and kingfisher among others.

At the falls you will as well view at the bottom of the falls and you can have a hike at the top of the falls which is optional. While on the hike, you will pass through the bakers trail and stand at the baker’s stone which brings you closer to the bottom of the falls. After you will head back to your lodge for dinner and a night stay.

DAY 3; TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

In the morning after your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kibale national park. The journey is a full day as you drive to fort portal with en-route lunch. The national park is a home to 13 primates and chimpanzees are the most visited. On arrival, you will check into your lodge and refreshen, have dinner and a night stay.

DAY 4; CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND NATURE WALK

Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will be transferred to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the endangered chimpanzees and it takes 2 to 5 hours. Once the chimpanzees are located you will spend with them an hour as you study their behaviors as you take photos and videos. After the trekking, you will head back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will head to Bigodi wetland for a nature walk. As you walk through, you will watch a number of bird species. After the walk, you will head back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.

DAY 5; TRANSFER TO BWINDI VIA QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

I the morning, you will have breakfast and head to Bwindi national park but you will have a morning game drive in queen Elizabeth national park in search for the tree climbing lions as well as other wildlife species. After you will proceed to bwindi national park and check in your lodge as you relax, have dinner and a night stay.

DAY 6; GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE

In the morning after your breakfast, you will be transferred to the national parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas and this takes 2 to 8 hours. After locating the gorillas, you will spend with the gorillas an hour as you watch them play, feed, breastfeed and relate to one another among others as you take photos and videos.

After the trekking, you will head back to the lodge and relax, have dinner and a night stay

DAY 7; VISIT LAKE BUNYONYI

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi in kabale district. It’s a 2 hours’ drive and upon arrival you will have scenic views of the surrounding hills. Lake Bunyonyi is known to be the second deepest lake in Africa between 44m and 900m deep and its 7 to 25 kms wide. On arrival you will have lunch and then head for a boat trip to the islands such as Kyahugye Island where you will spot wildlife such as waterbucks, zebras and impalas. A visit to Akampene Island where pregnant girls were dumped to die as well as Bwama and Njuyeera Island where Dr. Leonard Sharp a missionary found a leper colony. After the tour of the islands, you will head back to your lodge relax, have dinner and a night stay.

DAY 8; TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA

In the morning after your breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kampala with the enroute lunch in mbarara. After reaching in Kampala you will be dropped at the airport for your flight back home or any location of your choice as advised.
