Murchison Falls National Park.
Murchison Falls National Park is the largest protected place in Uganda. It is located in the Masindi District in the northwest. The park is named for the Murchison Falls, one of its most impressive features, which cover more than 3,800 km². The Nile River thunders down 42 meters after passing through a tight valley to create the Murchison Falls. Because of past insecurity in the country and unrestricted poaching, the park is not as it used to be. However, more recent efforts to preserve the park have improved its condition. The waterfall may be the most popular thing to see in the park, but there is also an abundance of wildlife. Over 1000 Rothschild Giraffes, which are now endangered, live in the park Uganda tours. In East Africa, this is the largest population of these animals. Visitors on a Uganda Wildlife safari can expect a unique cruise up and down the river Nile to see elephants, lions, giraffes, Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, antelopes, and birds feeding along the river banks. Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda is 2,056 square kilometres and is close to the border with the DR Congo. It is the most prominent park in Uganda and is known for the Uganda Kobs and the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. Visitors on a safari in Uganda love the park’s beautiful green scenery and variety of vegetation, creatures, and birds. The park is home to around 600 different species of birds. These include the Kingfisher, marabou storks, flamingos, eagles, cattle egrets, and black kites, among others. The park contains a wide variety of plants, lakes, wetlands, craters, savanna areas, and other volcanic formations. Kazinga Channel is an outstanding safari destination to see birds and wild animals, and the Maramagambo forest is a good position to track chimpanzees. Kidepo Valley National Park.
Kidepo Valley National Park is a beautiful safari destination. Approximately 1,440 km2 in size, it is located in a remote area of northeastern Uganda. The park boasts more types of plants and animals than any other park, but it doesn’t receive as many visitors as other parks because it is located in a remote area of Uganda. It has been described by CNN Travel as among the top three parks in Africa. Uganda’s Kidepo Valley National Park is made up of beautiful mountains and a Savannah that hasn’t been changed much. On a tour in Uganda, you can observe giraffes, Oryx, buffalo, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and wild dogs. In addition, the park is home to over 475 different species of birds, elephants, ostriches, baboons, and bush babies. The Kananorok hot springs are located in the park’s northern section.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park is in the south western part of Uganda. It is close to the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Known as the “Switzerland of Africa” due to its diverse range of flora and fauna, Bwindi is a World Heritage Site for Uganda safaris. The lush, picturesque woods of Bwindi National Park are home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Only Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have the remaining ones. One of the top three safari activities to think about while traveling to Africa or Uganda is a mountain gorilla trekking safari. Since mountain gorillas are endangered, visiting them on a gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi National Park is an experience that comes only once in a lifetime. In addition to being a fantastic location for birdwatchers, Bwindi is home to Colobus monkeys. Among the bird species are African green broadbills, black-billed turacos, bee-eaters, and chap-in flycatchers. The ideal time to watch birds in Uganda is during the rainy season, when migratory and native birds congregate to consume the abundance of insects and forest fruits.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Mgahinga is in the southwest of Uganda and is well-known for its gorillas. Gorilla trekking safari in Mgahinga involves visiting the one habituated mountain gorilla family found in the park. Golden monkeys can only be found in Mgahinga, Uganda. To see more groups of golden monkeys, you would have to cross into Rwanda. There is more to the park than just gorillas and monkeys. Jackals, buffalo, leopards, forest elephants, and a few species of antelope can also be found in the park. Kibale Forest National Park.
Kibale Forest National Park borders Queen Elizabeth National Park and is located near the Rwenzori Mountains. The dense forest is known for being the best place in East Africa to look for chimpanzees. Chimpanzees live in other parts of Uganda and Africa, but because there are so many of them in Kibale forest (1500), you can be sure to get up close to them on a Uganda tour. Nature walks and a visit to the Bigodi wetland can be combined with a chimpanzee trekking safari in Kibale Forest. In addition to chimps, the park is home to thirteen different species of monkeys. These consist of the grey-cheeked mangabey, L’Hoest’s, and red colobus. Antelopes, enormous forest pigs, and over 100 species of butterflies can all be found in the park. There are meadows and marshes in Uganda’s Kibale National Park, where more than 290 different species of birds can be found.
Lake Mburo National Park.
Despite being the smallest savannah park in Uganda, Lake Mburo is the most accessible from Kampala. Lake Mburo is the largest of the park’s 13 bodies of water. Lake Mburo National Park is a place in Uganda where you can see zebras. With more than 300 species that gather at the lake and its marshy edges, the park is a birder’s heaven. The massive woodland benefits from the absence of elephants in the park.
Mount Elgon National Park.
Mount Elgon National Park is situated in Mbale district in the Eastern part of the country and lies on the border between Uganda and Kenya. The primary attraction to see in the park is Mount Elgon. With a 42 km2 crater, the mountain is an extinct volcano. The Wagagai summit is a favorite among hikers as are hot-springs and other features that make Mount Elgon National park so captivating. There are forests, bushes, waterfalls, caves, gorges, and canyons all over the mountain sides. The park also has a multitude of birds and monkeys, such as Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and vevert monkeys.
Semuliki National Park.
Semuliki National Park is located in Bundibugyo district in a secluded area of southwest Uganda. One of Uganda’s smallest national parks, Semuliki is located between 670 and 760 metres above sea level on a surface area of 220 km2. One of the ten national parks in Uganda, Semuliki is the greatest safari destination to go forest bird watching because it is home to a large number of species of birds native to central Africa, some of the bird species in the park includes Sassi’s Olive, Xavier’s, Simple, and Eastern Bearded Greenbuls, Blue-headed Crested Flycatcher, Black-wattled Hornbill, Congo Serpent Eagle, yellow-throated Cuckoo, and White-bellied and African Dwarf Kingfishers and among others. Semuliki National Park was founded in 1932 and granted national park status in 1993. The park has been acknowledged to be the only tract of trust lowland tropical forest in East Africa with moist semi-deciduous forest, predominant iron-wood with patches of swamp forest and water habitats that include forest streams and oxbow lakes with adjacent swamps. There are 53 species of mammals and about 441 species of birds known to live there.
