5 days Akagera national park and Volcanoes safari takes you to Akagera Park where you will spot wildlife species as well as have a boat cruise then head to the volcanoes where you will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
On arrival, the safari guide will pick you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Akagera national park. You will have a stopover within Kigali for a city tour. You will visit the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, kimironko market and then have lunch. After lunch you will proceed with the journey to Akagera national park. On arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner as well as prepare for the next day activities.
DAY 2; GAME DRIVE AND EVENING BOAT RIDE
After breakfast in the morning, you will head out to the savannah plains for a game drive. You will enjoy 4 hours of the wildlife viewing in the akagera national park. You will spot animals such as buffaloes, leopards, rhinos, lions among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will connect to Lake Ihema for an afternoon boat trip for a chance to explore the lake. While on the cruise, you will spot birds and watch hippos wallowing in the water as well spot crocodiles. After the experience, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; COMMUNITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
In the morning, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and go for a community experience with the local community around the park. After the community tour, you will reconnect to Kigali for lunch. After lunch, you will head to the volcanoes national park. The drive takes 3 hours and on arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING AND CULTURAL CENTER VISIT
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the national park in search of the mountain gorillas and the trek takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. On location of the gorilla family, you will spend an hour with them as you watch their behaviors and take photos as well as record moments. After you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head for a cultural visit at the Iby’iwacu cultural center for a cultural experience. After the experience, you will connect back to your lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 5; TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
After breakfast in the morning, you will have breakfast and check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kigali. On arrival at Kigali you will be dropped off at the Kigali international airport for your flight back home or any place of advice.
