While on the safari, you will have a lion tracking experience in Queen Elizabeth national park, gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park, chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe national park as well as visit the Dian Fossey grave in the volcanoes national park.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
On arrival, the safari driver will pick you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have a stopover at the equator for photographs and have another stopover at mbarara for lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to the park and on arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; LION TRACKING EXPERIENCE/ GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE
In the morning after breakfast, you will go for a lion tracking experience which is conducted in kasenyi sector. The activity takes 3 to 4 hours depending on the location of the lions. While on the tracking, you will be accompanied by a team of experts, researchers as well as a park guide. Then after you will have a short morning game drive in kasenyi plains where you will spot animals such as lions, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, elephants among others. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will have an afternoon boat cruise on kazinga channel where you will spot hippos, crocodiles, buffalos as well as water birds. After the boat cruise, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
In the morning, you will have breakfast and embark on the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park via ishasha sector where you will spot the tree climbing lions at a close range. After you will proceed to Bwindi national park with enroute lunch. On arrival, you will check into your lodge and relax, have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; GORILLA TREKKING
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and head to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas with the help of a park guide. On locating the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them play, breastfeed, hunt among others as you record moments as well as take photos. The trekking takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After the trekking, you will head back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK IN RWANDA
In the morning after breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on the journey to volcanoes national park. While on the journey, you will go through people’s homesteads, the amazing country side as well as dramatic views of the virunga volcanoes. On arrival, you will check in your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 6; GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING AND NATURE WALK
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter into the forest in search of the golden monkeys. Once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you take photos and record moments. After you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a nature walk where you will visit the twin lakes or visit the iby’iwacu cultural village. After the visit, you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 7; DIAN FOSSEY HIKE AND TRANSFER TO LAKE KIVU
After breakfast in the morning, you will have a visit at karisoke research center for a hike at the Dian Fossey tombs. After the hike, you will head back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to Lake Kivu for a boat ride where you will explore the island, spot a number of bird species among others. After the boat ride, you will head to your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 8; TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
In the morning after breakfast, you will head to nyungwe forest national park. The journey is a scenic one as you will go through homesteads and a number of different hills of Rwanda. On arrival in the evening, you will check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 9; CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND CANOPY WALK
After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the park for a chimpanzee trekking where you will search for the chimpanzees. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour with the chimpanzees as you watch them carry out their day to day activities as you take photos and record moments. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will have a canopy walk within the forest where you will spot other primates from the top of the forest. After the walk, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 10; TRANSFER TO KIGALI
In the morning after having breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the way to Kigali. You will have an enroute visit to Nyanza kings palace for a cultural visit, Butare national museum and Murambi genocide museum among others. On arrival within Kigali, you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home.
