5 days Akagera and Volcanoes national park Safari is an interesting safari which takes you to touring 2 adventurous parks within Rwanda where you will have an experience of the game drives as well as cultural tours then head to the volcanoes where you will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas as you learn more about them.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK FOR A BOAT CRUISE
On arrival, the safari guide will pick you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the drive to akagera national park. You will have a city tour where you will visit the kimironko market for the craft pieces and the Kigali memorial grounds. After you will have lunch and proceed to Akagera national park. On arrival, you will have a boat trip where you will spot animals such as crocodiles and hippos as well as various bird species on the shores of the river. After, you will head to your lodge for a relaxation and prepare for the next day activities.
DAY 2; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND EVENING CULTURAL TOUR
After your early morning breakfast, you will head out for the morning game drive where you will explore the northern circuit. While on the game drive, you will spot animals such as elephants, warthogs, giraffes, rhinos among others. After 4 to 5 hours within the park, you will return back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head out for a cultural experience in akagera, you will spend 2 hours and then later return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES AND EVENING CULTURAL TOUR
In the morning after breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a drive to volcanoes national park. The journey takes 4 to 5 hours with a stopover for lunch in Kigali then proceed to musanze the home of the endangered mountain gorillas.
On arrival, you will head for a cultural experience at ibyiwacu cultural center which gives tourists the feel of the Rwandan culture in terms of food, norms, dressing, and lifestyle of the ancient people among others. After the cultural tour you will return back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 4; MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 8 individuals per group and allocated a gorilla family to trek. The trekking takes 2 to 8 hours searching for the mountain gorillas and once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them play, feed, hunt, breastfeed as you take photos and breastfeed as well. After the trekking you will head back to the park headquarters and have your packed lunch then return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5 TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
You will have your morning breakfast at leisure and then checkout of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival you will be dropped off at Kigali international airport for your flight back home or any place of advise.
