5 days Akagera and Nyungwe national park safari introduces you to 2 national parks where you will explore the parks with the help of a guide as you will spot many attractions within the wild. You will engage in activities such as chimpanzee trekking in nyungwe national park, boat cruise at lake Ihema, game drives in akagera national park where you will access the big five animals within Rwanda. You will as well take part in a canopy walk in Rwanda. The safari will offer you a rewarding experience to make your safari worthy.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO AKAGERA AND BOAT CRUISE
The safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will embark on the journey to Akagera national park. On arrival you will have a game drive where you will spot animals such as elephants, rhinos among others. After you will go and check into the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will have an amazing boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will spot animals like hippos, crocodiles as well as bird species such as African kingfishers, shoebill among others. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 2; FULL DAY GAME DRIVES
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go to the park for a morning game drive where you will spot animals in their active state. After the morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will head back into the park for another game drive where you will spot animals that you missed in the morning. You will spot animals such as elephants, rhinos, oribi and many more. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 3; RHINO TRACKING AND COMMUNITY TOUR
In the early morning after breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters. You will go and participate in the rhino trekking where you will get an up-close look at the rhinos which involves walking on foot to the rhinos and observe their behaviors in the wild as you watch them move freely within the park. After the rhino trekking, you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you can have an optional activity of hot airballoning. Then you can head to the community tour later in the evening where you will have a chance to understand more about the culture of the people. During the community tour you will observe different cultural aspects such as traditional dances, folk songs among others that are much rewarding. After the community tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK AND CANOPY WALK
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Nyungwe national park. You will have a stopover at Butare where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, king’s palace in Nyanza with en-route lunch. After lunch, you will head for a canopy walk in nyungwe national park which offers amazing views of the park as you walk along the suspended metallic trail in the trees. You will spot primates swinging on branches such as chimpanzees, various monkey species as well as bird species among others. After the canopy walk, you will head to your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
After having breakfast, you will go for a briefing about the chimpanzees before heading into the forest. After the briefing, you will head into the forest to search for the habituated chimpanzees. The trekking takes 3 hours and on finding them, you will spend an hour with them as you take pictures and record moments. After the trekking, you will embark on your journey back to Kigali with enroute lunch. After lunch, you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home.
