Day 1; Arrival in Kigali

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; ARRIVAL IN KIGALI
On arrival at the airport, the safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and a night stay. Before, you will have a city tour in Kigali where you will visit the national museum, genocide museum, caplaki craft village and umusambi crane village among others. After return to the hotel for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; TRANSFER FROM KIGALI TO BUKAVU IN CONGO
After breakfast in the morning, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on the journey to kahuzi beiga national park as you pass through the south eastern Rwanda and head to Butare where you will have lunch before crossing the Cyangugu border. After, you will proceed to bukavu town and head to your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; EASTERN LOWLAND GORILLA TREKKING
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and head to the national park headquarters. On a arrival you will be grouped into 8 individuals with a park guide who is well conversant with the hiking paths. The trekking can take 5 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them play, hunt, feed and breastfeed as you take pictures and record moments. After, you will return to your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; HIKE MOUNT KAHUZI
After morning breakfast, you will prepare to hike mount kahuzi which is dominated by montane rainforests on the slopes. As you hike the mountain, you will spot wildlife within kahuzi beiga national park such as forest giraffes, antelopes, primates such as golden monkeys, black and white monkeys and lowland gorillas among others. The hike takes 4 hours ascending and 3 hours to descend as it takes you through the bamboo woods and alpine flora. After you will return back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
After breakfast in the morning, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kigali. On arrival at Kigali, you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home or any place of advice.
