Both the national parks are located in the north region of Uganda and is covered by the vast savannah grassland that is a home to a number of many animals as well as bird species. Murchison falls national park is the largest national park in Uganda with an area cover of 3900 square kilometers.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER FROM KAMPALA TO KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Early morning the safari driver guide will pick you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on a journey to kidepo valley national park. The journey takes 10 to 11 hours and the journey will have stopovers for lunch and a stretch. On reaching the national park, you will check in your lodge and relax from the long journey, have dinner a night stay.
DAY 2; GAME DRIVES IN KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK
On the 2nd day of your 6 days kidepo valley and Murchison falls safari , early in the morning after breakfast, you will head for a game drive within the kidepo’s wilderness. Within the national park you will spot plenty of animals as you drive through the main biomes of kidepo from the savanna grasslands of the Narus valley in the south to the semi-arid short grass of the national park in the north. The national park is famous for having cats that are only found in national park and not elsewhere. These include stripped hyena, aardwolf, bat-eared, cheetah and caracal. Other games include lions, giraffe, zebra, leopards, lions, kob, topi and waterbuck among others. The ostrich is one of the birds that aren’t found anywhere. While on the game drive, you will visit the sand river as well as the Kanangorok hot springs that are found in the north of the national park. You will have lunch from the dry sand river bed which is the most amazing experience on your safari
DAY 3; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND COMMUNITY WALK
Early in the morning, you will be transferred for another safari experience. During the game drive you will explore the game tracks and see a number of animals as you enjoy the landscape. After you will return to the lodge and wait for lunch as you relax.
After lunch, you will visit the local community of the karamojong who are similar to the Masai of Kenya. You will learn more about their traditions and cultures, their unique housing, ornaments and craft. You will have to see them dance their traditional dance and many more. After you will head back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 4; TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS
You will have breakfast and checkout of the lodge then embark on the journey to Murchison falls. There will be a stopover at kitgum or gulu town for lunch. Arrive in the evening check into your lodge and relax as you wait for the next day activities.
DAY 5; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and head for the morning game drive within Murchison falls where you will spot plenty of animals as well as birds. You will explore the grassland within the northern area of the park where you will be exposed to a number of game. These include lions, buffaloes, Uganda kob, Jackson’s Hartebeest, hyena, leopard, oribi, baboons, and many more. Birds are as well spotted such as carmine Bee-eater and Abyssinian ground hornbill that are spotted all throughout the game drive. After you will head back to the lodge and relax until lunch.
After lunch you will head out for the boat cruise at the Nile. The ride takes 2 hours as you observe life such as crocodiles, elephants, hippos and many more. Birds such as kingfishers, herons, bee-eaters, fish eagle and many more are spotted. After the boat cruise you will head back to the lodge and relax, have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 6; TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA
On the 6th day of your 6 days kidepo valley and Murchison falls safari, in the morning after breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kampala. While on the journey, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will spot the rhinos in their habitat which makes the list of the big five to be complete. After the rhino tracking, you will have lunch and embark on the journey back to Kampala. You will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or any place of convenience
