DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO KIGALI CITY TOUR AND VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
At the airport, you will be picked by the company representative who will brief you about the safari and then head to Kigali for a city tour. While on a city tour you will visit places such as kimironko market and the genocide memorial site. After you will have lunch at the historical hotel des Mille Collines which is popular for the movie hotel `Rwanda’. After you will be transferred to Ruhengeri which is just few meters away from the Volcanoes national park. On reaching you will head into your lodge and relax for the next day activities.
DAY 2; GORILLA TREKKING IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the national park headquarters with your packed lunch and drinking water for a briefing by the park rangers. After, you will head into the forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas and the trek takes 2 to 8 hours depending on their location. Once they are located, you will spend with them an hour as you watch their behaviors. After, you will head back to your lodge and relax.
Later in the evening, you can opt to have a community tour around Ruhengeri for the Rwanda cultural experience. After the tour, you can head back to your lodge and relax as you wait for dinner.
DAY 3; TRANSFER TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
After enjoying breakfast you will check out of the lodge and drive to bwindi impenetrable national park in kisoro town. With an enroute lunch you will enter Uganda through cyanika boarder and reach in kisoro. After, you will head to Bwindi impenetrable national park and check in the lodge have dinner and overnight.
DAY 4; MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING
In the morning after breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarter for a briefing about the trekking. After you will head to the forest in search of the mountain gorillas where it takes 2 to 7 hours depending on their location. Once the gorillas are allocated you will spend an hour with the gorillas as you watch them play, feed, breastfeed as well as relating with one another. After the trek you will head back to the lodge and have a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 5; VISIT LAKE BUNYONYI AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
You will have early morning breakfast and drive to Lake Bunyonyi for a brief motorized canoe trip as you admire the beauty of the lake. After you will have lunch at the birdnest and embark on the journey back to Kigali city. On reaching in the city, you will proceed to the airport for your flight back home
