Detailed Itinerary
During the 1 Day Jinja Safari tour, you will be picked from your hotel or place of residence at 7;30am after breakfast and start the morning drive to jinja where the first stop over will be the ssezibwa falls which are 32 kilometers east of Kampala city within mukono town. The falls are 7 meters high with an amazing sound that is created with the falling water giving a beautiful scenery. Besides the falls, there’s a vegetation cover and the undulating plus the steep rocks where the water falls. The area is dotted with birds making it one of the birding safari destinations. The place has a number of activities such as rock climbing, nature walks, camping, bird watching and hiking.
After you continue to mabira forest where you will enjoy a guided nature walk for 2 hours within the forest. Mabira covers an area of 300 square kilometers and found in Buikwe district. The forest is a home to over 300 bird species as well as primates. You will be able to see amazing forest birds and animals making the safari amazing and enjoyable.
Thereafter we proceed to jinja town and have lunch. After lunch you will proceed to the source of the Nile and take a boat ride from the shores of the Nile to the waters originate from. Then photos can be taken as you enjoy further in Lake Victoria as well as the amazing countryside. For bird lovers plenty of the birds can be spotted such as Egrets, fish eagles, pelicans, cormorants among others, the ride takes only an hour.
Later pass through jinja town where you can purchase some souvenirs such as African crafts among others and later proceed to Kampala. You will arrive in Kampala by 6pm and drop off to the hostel or place of residence.
