DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO LAKE KIVU
On arrival, you will be picked by the safari guide who will brief you about the safari. After you will be transferred to gisenyi where you will have lunch and spend the evening exploring Lake Kivu. After, you will check into your lodge for a refreshment, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; NYIRAGONGO HIKE
In the morning after having breakfast, you will be transferred to kibati ranger post where you will meet other hikers for a briefing. After the briefing, you will ascend mount Nyiragongo. You will have an overnight stay at the summit of Nyiragongo which is so rewarding with the boiling lava lake.
DAY 3; DESCEND NYIRAGONGO AND DRIVE TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast, you will descend Mount Nyiragongo and head back to kibati patrol post. On arrival at kibati, you will be driven back to Goma and cross over to Rwanda with enroute lunch. After lunch, you will cross to Uganda and head to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be allocated a mountain gorilla family to trek and be grouped into individuals of 8. After you will enter into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas with the help of the park rangers. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas as you watch them carry out their day to day activities as you take photos and record moments. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast in the morning, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park via the ishasha sector. You with have a game drive and see the mighty climbing lions as well as other animals such as elephants, buffalos, giraffes, impalas and lions among others. After the game drive, you will proceed and check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 6; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE
After breakfast, you will be driven to Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive where you will spot wildlife species such as mammals, birds and vegetation. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head for an afternoon boat cruise on the amazing kazinga channel. While on the cruise, you will spot crocodiles, hippos and water birds among others. After the cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 7; TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK AND CHIMPANZEE TREKKING
After breakfast in the morning, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to kibale forest national park. On arrival, you will check into the lodge and then later head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter into the forest in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them carryout their day to day activities. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for late lunch and enjoy the evening relaxing, wait for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 8; TRANSFER TO KAMPALA AND DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kampala. On arrival, you will have lunch and as well have a city tour then you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home.
