DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK
The safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will head to Kigali city for a city tour. After the city tour with en-route lunch, you will proceed to nyungwe national park and check into your lodge, have dinner and night stay.
DAY 2; CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN NYUNGWE, CANOPY WALK IN NYUNGWE
You will have a morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After, you will head to the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour with the chimpanzees as you watch them play, feed and jump from one tree branch from another among others. After you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will proceed for a canopy walk in nyungwe national park which gives you an opportunity to have a bird’s eye view of the forest. The canopy walk is so rewarding with great views where you will see chimpanzees again as well as other primates like baboons and a number of monkeys. After the walk, you will head back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 3; TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK, BATWA CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
You will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Bwindi national park. You will drive through Rwanda to Uganda via Cyanika or katuna border that will make your safari amazing. On arrival, you will head to the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a batwa culture experience where you will learn more about the batwa people such as how they cooked back then, hunting skills, fighting skills and how they made fire with a stick. After the tour, you will head back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 4; GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Besides the gorillas, you will spot other primates such as red-tailed monkeys, white and black colobus monkeys, and mammals like elephants as well as bird species.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with the gorillas as you watch their behaviors such as feeding, breastfeeding as you take pictures. After, you will head back to the headquarters for your trekking certificate. After the trekking, you will head back to
DAY 5; TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH, AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL AND EVENING GAME DRIVE
After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park and it takes 4 hours via ishasha sector which is famous for the tree climbing lions. You will enjoy spotting the lions on the tree branches as well other wildlife animals with enroute lunch. After lunch, you will head for the boat cruise on the kazinga channel where, you will spot crocodiles, hippos, other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and bird species among others.
After the boat cruise, you will go for an evening game drive on the vast savannah area of the park where you will spot animals such as elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions and jackals among others. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 6; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND DEPARTURE
In the early morning after your breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and head to the morning game drive where you will have an opportunity to see nocturnal animals after a long night hunting. After the game drive you will embark on the journey to Entebbe with en-route lunch at Igongo cultural center and at the equator in kayabwe and take pictures as well as buying souvenirs. On arrival you will be dropped at Entebbe airport for your flight back home.
