Luxury Lodges in Queen Elizabeth National Park : Queen Elizabeth national park is located in the southwest of Uganda and it’s the second largest as well as the most visited national parks in Uganda. The national park has an area cover of 1,978 square kilometers and comprises of the open savannah grassland, forest grassland, swamp vegetation, acacia woodland and is a home to 95 animal species including the big four mammals, 612 bird species among others.

The national park has a variety of activities that tourists can engage in while on their safari and thus having the perfect choice of accommodation for visitors looking for the best experience and services during their stay within the park.

MWEYA SAFARI LODGE

The mweya safari lodge is found within the heart of Queen Elizabeth national park within the mweya peninsular. The lodge offers memorable experiences to tourists while on their safari within the park where they have amazing views of Rwenzori Mountains, kazinga channel which joins Lake Edward and George as well as the rift valley among others.

The accommodation options at the mweya safari lodge include; queen cottage, presidential cottage, standard rooms, deluxe rooms, suites, royal family cottage, rwenzori family cottage and luxury tents.

Other facilities at the lodge include; restaurant and cuisine with special barbecues, traditional dancers who perform on Saturday evenings, swimming pool which overlooks the kazinga channel, gift shop which sells crafts and souvenirs such as clothes, guidebooks, safari items among others, tembo bar which overlooks the kazinga channel and lake Edward and it’s the perfect place for a relaxation, mweya information center which is 100 meters away from the mweya gate and a conference facility with air conditioner, elegant board room for your workshop.

JACANA SAFARI LODGE

Jacana safari lodge is found within Queen Elizabeth national park and it’s part of the geo lodges Uganda a very hospitable organization that owns lodges in the protected area. The lodge was constructed using local rock, wood and rope, gum poles and decorated with rich textures and organic furniture.

The lodge has 10 luxury chalets and a family cottage with two rooms. The lodge offers amenities such as en-suite bathrooms with running water and flushing toilets and private terraces.

Other facilities such as tembo bar which is set on the lower level with amazing views of water, Virunga lounge with large sitting sofas centered around a huge fire place, swimming pool, laundry, sauna, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant that prepares local and international dishes. While at the lodge one can engage in activities such as game drives, chimpanzee trekking, nature walks around the lodge, forest walk and bird watching.

KATARA LODGE

Katara lodge is located on the rift valley escarpment which is 16 kilometers from katunguru gate of Queen Elizabeth national park.

The lodge has 8 luxury thatched cottages, 7 regular and one family cottage. The cottages were built on a hill overlooking the open savannah and each was designed using local materials, have wooden floors, grass thatched roofs, canvas that can be folded to get better views of the park, have double bed and 4 poster star bed which can be wheeled out onto the veranda, bathrooms, romantic roll top bath and a family cottage which has two separate double bedrooms where one bedroom has a double bed and two beds as well as another bedroom which can accommodate 3 children. The family cottage has a private sitting area, bathroom, swing couch and two hammocks.

Other facilities at the lodge include; free Wi-Fi, restaurant, dining area, laundry services and a well-stocked bar.

KASENYI SAFARI CAMP

Kasenyi safari camp is found at the edge of Lake Bunyampaka within kasenyi sector. The camp has 8 tents that were constructed on platforms with thatched canopy roof, en-suite bathrooms, king-size beds, walk in mosquitos, spacious living areas, private decks, elevated dining structure as well as great views of animals such as warthogs, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas and lions among others which can be seen during the day or night as you walk around the camp.

KYAMBURA GORGE LODGE

Kyambura gorge is situated at the edge of the kyambura gorge which is famously known as the valley of apes within the eastern corner of Queen Elizabeth national park.

The lodge has 8 private cottages with 3 double rooms and 5 twin bedrooms. The cottages at the lodge were named after the chimpanzees within the kyambura gorge. Amenities such as flushing toilets, en-suite bathrooms, mosquito nets , private balcony for relaxation and 240 voltage lighting among others.

Other facilities at the lodge include; the sitting lounge, laundry services, swimming pool, restaurant, Wi-Fi in the main building and a well-stocked bar among others. While at the lodge visitors can engage in activities such as game drive, night game drive, lion tracking, chimpanzee trekking and cultural among others encounter among others.

ISHASHA WILDERNESS CAMP

This is a very popular luxury lodge which is found in Queen Elizabeth national park and it’s situated in the southern sector of the park on Ntungwe River within Ishasha sector which is famously known for the tree climbing lions. Ishasha wilderness camp offers amazing views of the river, wildlife such as vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos and elephants among others.

The camp has 10 spacious canvas tented rooms that are designed in African style and amenities such as en-site bathrooms with hot and cold water, flushing toilets, private verandas that overlook the river, large mosquito netted beds among others.

Other facilities include a restaurant that prepares local and international flavored cuisine, dining area, outside fire place that is put up in the evenings for visitors to relax, bush breakfast and sundowner in the wild, free WI-FI and recharging facilities, laundry services and a well-stocked bar among others.
