Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park in Uganda starts early in the morning at around 8am with a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations at the park headquarters  by the experienced park guides and then the park rangers. After the briefing, you will be subdivided into groups of 8 people where each group is assigned a habituated gorilla family to trek and an experience park guide who is well familiar with gorilla trekking trails each group will be assigned with the experienced park ranger and park guide. Mountain gorilla takes a period of about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species among others and once the mountain gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural environment. During the one hour you will watch the mountain gorillas doing their daily activities that is watching the gorillas feeding, watching the female gorillas’ breastfeeding the young gorillas, watching the gorillas grooming their young ones, watching the gorillas playing, watching the gorillas making the nests for their next night. During the one hour experience you will be take the gorillas pictures, recording their movies though using the cameras with less or no flash because the flash disrupts the gorillas. Then after the one hour experience you will trek back to the starting point to where you will be awarded with the gorilla trekking certificate for taking part in gorilla trekking.

Best time to go for gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

Although the best time is during the dry season, also known as the peak season in the months of June, July, August, September, December, January and February since during this period there is less or none rainfall in the national parks thus access roads and gorilla trekking paths will be dry and passable which makes gorilla trekking easy compared to the rainy season when the trekking trails are muddy and slippery which makes gorilla trekking difficult.
